New home wells and well service in Goodbee, LA

A lot of our work around Goodbee starts before anyone moves in. Many of the homes going up along LA-1077 and off US-190 sit on lots that need their own well, and getting that well in at the right time, in the right spot, keeps the whole build on schedule. We drill new-construction wells, run the system to the house, and stay on call for service after move-in, from our home base just east in Covington.

Building in Goodbee

The well is part of the build, not an afterthought.

When the well is planned alongside the house, driveway, and septic system, everything goes smoother. Here's what we plan for on new-construction lots.

Drill early

Builders need water on site, and a drill rig needs open access. Putting the well in before the slab, driveway, and landscaping go in avoids tearing up finished work later.

Plan the path to the house

The water line and the electrical run between the well and the house should be short, direct, and buried properly. Fewer turns in the line means better pressure at the faucets for the life of the home.

Keep the paperwork

Every new well has to be registered with the state within 30 days of completion. That record lists the well's depth and construction, and inspectors and future buyers often ask for it.

New-construction wells

We set the well location with your build in mind: clear of the house pad and driveway, at least 50 feet from the septic tank, and where a rig can get in before the site gets crowded. We read the cuttings to set the screen in the best sand, build in 4-inch or 6-inch casing, grout and seal it, and file the state registration.

Well pump and pressure tank system for a new home in Goodbee, LA

Complete well-to-house systems

A new home with several bathrooms, a big kitchen, and an irrigation plan needs a pump and pressure tank sized for that demand, not a standard package. We size the pump and tank to your house, run a direct line to the house with 160 PSI poly pipe and fewer 90-degree turns, and protect the wiring in conduit from the start.

Irrigation well for a new lawn in Goodbee, LA

Irrigation wells for new lawns

New sod and landscaping need frequent watering while the roots take hold, and that's a lot to ask of a brand-new house well. A dedicated irrigation well keeps the yard from competing with your showers and protects the house pump from extra wear in its first years.

  • Separate from the house system

Before repairing my pump he educated me. He went above and beyond to be sure our issue was resolved and explained every step of the way.

They diagnosed a problem another well company couldn't and fixed some incorrectly installed equipment. I will be calling them for any future issues.

Goodbee new-home well questions

Most questions we get in Goodbee come from people in the middle of a build.

When in the building process should the well go in?

As early as practical, usually before the slab, driveway, and landscaping. The builder gets water on site, the rig has room to work, and nothing finished has to be torn up. We'll also want to know where the septic system is going, since the well has to be at least 50 feet from the septic tank.

Can you coordinate with my builder?

Yes. Give us your builder's contact and the site plan, and we'll work out the well location and timing so it fits the build schedule. You'll stay in the loop on every decision that affects cost.

How big a pump does a new home need?

It depends on how many bathrooms and fixtures you have, whether you'll irrigate from the same well, and how far the house sits from the wellhead. We size the pump and pressure tank to those numbers so you get steady pressure without the pump cycling constantly.

Do I need a separate well to water new sod?

Not always, but it often helps. New sod needs frequent watering for the first few weeks, and running that off the house well can leave you with low pressure inside and extra wear on a new pump. If you plan on irrigating long term, a dedicated irrigation well usually pays off.

What paperwork will I get for my new well?

We register the well with the state within 30 days of completion and give you a copy. It records details like the well's depth and casing. Keep it with your house documents, because inspectors and future buyers often ask for it, along with a recent water test.
